This exhibit is centered around an interview I conducted with Javier Cabrera at Los Sures in South Williamsburg, Brooklyn on April 7th, 2016. The interview was conducted for a course entitled (Dis)placed Urban Histories taught by Rebecca Amato at New York University´s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
This exhibit focuses on three specific portions of South Williamsburg history:
1.) The history and current use of Sts. Peter and Paul´s Parish.
2.) The long history of South 2nd street and its relationship to the Domino Sugar Factory.
3.) The 2005 rezoning plans that continue to reshape the fabric of Williiamsburg.
